Jamie Lee has had a passion for dance since a very young age and has continued her devotion to the art of Dance her entire life. She is formally trained in Ballet with Major Examination Accreditations as well as studying Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Street Latin and Ballroom for over 27 years. She has been competing in dance competitions throughout her childhood and adult life with great success and started her professional dance career at age 17 working in Commercial Jazz and Music Theatre traveling throughout Australia. Her love of dance has taken her all around the world dancing in shows, choreographing and teaching workshops from Asia to Canada and most recently Brazil where she shared her love of Salsa and Bachata to many enthusiastic Brazilians.
She has been fortunate enough to be taught and mentored by many great Latin and Ballroom teachers and obtain a Bachelor of Music Theatre majoring in Dance at CQU Conservatorium of Music. She continues her professional development learning from people she greatly admires including celebrity Judge from Dancing with the stars Mark Wilson, Mexican Salsa extraordinaire Arturo Flores and the Zouk Experts Becky Crystal and Leonardo Neves.
For the past 13 years she has taught dance to people of all ages ranging from 3 years to 80 years and enjoys seeing people achieving and becoming more confident in themselves. She is passionate about making the inherent therapeutic properties of dance visible- Dance Heals and this Mantra has led her into work with physically, neurological and intellectual disabled people. This passion supported by her certification in fitness has rehabilitated and restored many people's quality of life. Further to this work other highlights of her career have been to choreograph and perform for celebrities such as Stan Walker and Chloe Dellimore performing for audiences some 20,000 large. She has choreographed professionally for Music Theatre greats such as Peter Cousens, known for his role as the phantom from London's West End production of, ‘Phantom of the Opera.’
Jamie greatly enjoyed employment as principal of the CQU Conservatorium of Music for children and taught dance at tertiary level in Central Queensland for 3 years. Over the past two years she began working with Sandro Alberto De Souza Santos teaching some Latin and Brazilian Styles of dance on the Gold Coast. They have had great success with their students and performance teams, taking beginner dancers and mentoring them to perform and reach amazing goals in record time. Their choreography has received enthusiastic and humbling praise from some of the best in the industry, much to their surprise and delight. Both Sandro and Jamie strive to enrich people's lives with culture and dance. They work extensively on the Gold Coast also in the corporate sector providing Brazilian Entertainment for major community productions.
Jamie has future ambition to train and work in South America bringing back to Australia the best and most authentic Brazilian Dance Styles, Training, Costumes and Shows. Her ultimate dream is to run a large multi-purpose Brazilian Arts Centre on the Gold Coast supporting Culture in Youth and training the next generation of talented young people.
Sandro was born in Rio and grew up Dancing Lambada, at the age of 17 started learning Latin as well as numerous other Brazilian Dances Style in Curitiba, Brazil.
Sandro is currently a well known AUS based Brazilian Zouk artist, Instructor, DJ and Performer. Since his move to the AUS he’s been mainly focusing on zouk training and teaching around the country with his partner Jamie Lee. Together with Jamie he runs the Brazilian Zouk scene on the Gold Coast and organizes Mega Zouk Congress.
He brings authentic Brazilian Dance to the Gold Coast with a wealth of Latin dance knowledge and now years of teaching experience. He has been a special Invited Artist at many large Zouk Congresses and Workshops Nationally in Australia and also in his home country of Brazil.
He has Directed and Run countless Dance events, social parties, workshops and classes over the past 7 years on the Gold Coast and is the biggest and longest running Contributor to the Brazilian Partner Dance community on the Gold Coast.
Also as a teacher he was trained in the Zouk syllabus created by renowned dancers such as Renata Peçanha and Carlos & Fernanda.
He is respected and well liked by many and has retained his students on the Gold Coast, privately training and teaching classes weekly.
